Avec une population de 2,5 milliards d’âmes (quart de la population mondiale) dont 60% sont jeunes et âgés de moins de 30 ans, le Commonwealth entend outiller ceux et celles qui constitueront la relève de son élite.
Avec un engagement renouvelé à apporter un appui massif à la formation holistique de sa prochaine relève, le Secrétariat du Commonwealth offre une opportunité de leadership à deux jeunes originaires de ses 56 Etats membres, âgés entre 18 et 29 ans. Ces derniers devront avoir au minimum un niveau universitaire BAC+3.
Il s’agit d’un programme de leadership sur 12 mois dont l’appel à candidatures expire le 11 septembre prochain. Les postulants devront être des passionnés patentés des questions de promotion de la paix et de la lutte contre les changements climatiques.

"Exciting opportunities for new cohort of young people to join Commonwealth youth networks
With 60% of the Commonwealth’s combined population under the age of 30, the Commonwealth sees young people aged 15 to 29 as assets to a country’s development who should be empowered to realise their potential.
The Commonwealth Secretariat provides technical assistance and support for national, regional, and global youth networks from the Commonwealth Youth Council to the Commonwealth Students Association.
The support from the Commonwealth Youth Programme has spearheaded the establishment of 13 youth networks aimed at tackling topics such as climate change, health, sustainable urbanisation, disability among others for young people aged 15-29.
Youth network opportunities
The Commonwealth Youth Peace Ambassadors Network (CYPAN) and the Commonwealth Youth Climate Change Network (CYCN) are each looking for a young leader to join as a coordinator.
Responsibilities include overseeing the regular management of the network, increasing visibility, outreach, inclusion, and membership, and working closely with the Commonwealth Secretariat.
This is an exciting 12-month opportunity for two individuals who want to make a difference, work on global projects and are passionate about peace or climate change.
Applicants must:
Be a citizen from a Commonwealth country and aged 18 to 29 years at the time of applying;
Have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant area (International Development, Planning, Sustainability, International Relations or Environmental Studies) or equivalent experience;
Have evidence of strong experience in managing a diverse, regional and/or international network;
Have experience and evidence of developing successful communications strategies, and management of a network;
Have strong writing and reporting skills and excellent communication and project management skills;
Dedicate 18 hours weekly
